Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect for:
Windsor - Leamington - Essex County
At 7:33 PM EDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts and heavy rain.
What:
This line of severe thunderstorms is located from 120 kilometres northwest of LaSalle to 115 kilometres southwest of Amherstburg, moving east at 60 km/h.
When:
The line of thunderstorms is expected to move across the international border near 8:30 P.M. EDT.
Hazard:
100 km/h wind gusts and nickel size hail. A tornado is also possible.
Locations impacted include:
Windsor, Amherstburg, Tecumseh, Kingsville, LaSalle, South Windsor, McGregor, Windsor Airport, Colchester, Harrow, Maidstone, Essex and Pelee Island.
Local utility outages are likely. Damage to roofs, fences, soft shelters or trees is likely. There is a risk of injury.
Take immediate cover if a thunderstorm approaches. If outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail. If you hear roaring wind, see a funnel cloud, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take shelter immediately.
Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
