How to not get scammed buying designer⬇️

The reality is, counterfeitters have improved their craft, vintage/thrifting is a trend, and people assume because something is made from vintage, it makes sense the price for reworked/ repurposed jewlery is so low! WRONG ❌️

Here are some tips depending on the brand:

🔎For Prada pendants, check to make sure the "R" in Prada has its right leg curved a little
🔎For Chanel, if the VINTAGE item sells for $1,000 and only has 6 buttons total, and you bought a "reworked necklace" for $70, it's probably fake (also, who's ripping apart of vintage Chanel just to take the buttons and sell them under value... NO ONE)
🔎For LV, reverse image search the "bag charm" the hardware came from
🔎Buy from vintage stores who can prove authenticity to you (if they bought from a trust worthy secondhand luxury store, store like Poshmark if it's over $500, Vestiaire Collective, and The Real Real authenticate)

I do my best to keep prices down as much as possible to make luxury affordae but the truth of the matter is that even if an item is used and is vintage (meaning over 20 years old), items from top brands like Chanel maintain their value, if not appreciate in value. So if a site claims they made a necklace from authentic Chanel buttons from a vintage jacket (likely $500-$9,000) which usually only has a few buttons, then you add the cost of labor, materials, and needing to make a profit, chance that they are selling you an authentic reworked necklace for $70 is slim to none.

You've heard it before.. if it sounds like it's too good to be true, it probably is ☝🏾

Follow for your encyclopedia on all things reworked designer vintage. I got you.
