Edit: I want to preface this by saying every movie has multiple facets that can be analyzed; it’s just a matter of how one contextualizes the given information. It’s definitely important to be mindful of the white savior complex within movies, and after reading several comments, I understand why “The Help” is receiving a lot of backlash. I simply just wanted to clarify its inclusion in my list since it’s a movie that does showcase and inform us of the classism & the socio-economic disparities evident between blacks & whites (if you take the time to watch through a critical lens).
