Some Shots from the Homeless and Healthy talk that took place Nov 19th, 2019. I'm happy to say the PTM "Homeless and Healthy?" panel discussion went well, and served to highlight that not only do homeless people deserve to be seen and listened to, but that, coupled with poverty prevention, the data shows a great deal of the pain of the homeless crisis can be abated with medical and mental health interventions.
.
Added Backstory: Our student group in cooperation with the Pass The Mic group at UofT, went out to do live portraits of homeless individuals around Toronto during the summer. Thanks to @starbucks 's donation to the project, we were able to provide each of the individuals with giftcards, and thanks to the efforts of our group members, and the consent of our interviewees, whilst the PTM members performed a medical questionnaire, we were able to create life drawing & paintings that would become art to be sold to help the homeless.
.
I am also glad to report our group donated 50% of the proceeds to the Scott Mission.
.
If you'd like to see the work, and support our efforts to help the homeless, we will be announcing future events, so follow us here or join our Facebook group (link in bio)
