Where will people in Essex County be able to experience "totality" (where the Moon completely covers the Sun) in the upcoming eclipse on April 8th? It may surprise you that Windsor, Tecumseh, Lasalle, Amherstburg, Essex and most of Lakeshore WILL NOT experience TOTALITY. In these locations, the Sun will never be completely covered and that means that eye protection will be necessary during the ENTIRE ECLIPSE. Check out the Map I've provided. Only those observers southeast (below and to the right) of the red line will be able to look up and directly view the eclipsed Sun without eye protection DURING THE TIME WHEN THE MOON COMPLETELY COVERS THE SUN during totality. For a more complete explanation of where and when it is safe to look at the eclipsed Sun without glasses, check out these videos.. youtube and youtube and youtube
