@NYPD I am disgusted by this.
In 2020, where weed is now legal in half of the country, that you all are so proud of this that you are posting celebratory tweets on social media makes me sick.
And shame on @nygovcuomo and @nycmayor for ALWAYS being so behind on this. It’s outrageous that this is still a crime in our state. And that ANYBODY is going to go to prison for this.
In this tough economic time, where we are cutting school budgets and everything else, it’s doubly awful that we are now going to spend millions of dollars to arrest, convict, and jail people for selling weed.
Fuck the “war on drugs.”
Because what we know is that it’s really a war on people and very particular communities.
