i was taken to New Orleans last year in the spring under the guise of work for a job that ceased to exist shortly after. i was there to run errands and assist executives at a conference, but sought out every opportunity i had to see the place; every uber ride a personal tour of the city from the driver's pov and every coffee run a chance to blow some film. it was ungodly hot and humid, but i convinced a restless coworker to walk a mile with me on an errand on this day. on our way back i spotted these two sitting across the street and instantly set all half a dozen iced lattes on the sidewalk. one of them watched me stop, so i waved and pointed to my camera to try to ask for permission. he didn't even flinch, just stared right at me, which i took as a "yes, just be quick." i shot 2 frames, resumed my role as a caffeine pack mule, and walked back to the 10 bedroom haunted house we were staying in. everything spontaneously combusted less than 2 weeks later and it all feels like some very distant fever dream, but here is proof that it happened. @oshoveit ...read more
