Dedicated to my parents 🀍 When having my last huge health flare that threatened my life, it also threatened my relationship with my parents who I’ve always had a tight bond with. I was filled with rage towards everyone & everything due to the severity of pain & sickness. I blamed my parents the most. I was angry they couldn’t help me. Couldn’t make it better. I blamed them for not letting me end my pain & suffering. This situation became all of our worst nightmares.

As I’ve gotten healthier our relationship is back to a deeply knitted bond, though my PTSD can cause waves. I’ve seen over the years how our bond has shifted & changed with time. It’s not easy to be adult parents to adult children & vice versa. Even though we’ve had our ups & down, arguments & frustrations, I’m very thankful for the parents I have.

With my birthday coming up I want to shine a light on the two people who brought me into this world. My parents never judge me & always accept/support me for who I am. Do I worry them at times with my adventures, yes but at the same time they are proud of me for being brave & confident. They support my body positive posts, loving I own my power & free spirit. When becoming Buddhist they encouraged me to believe in what brings peace. They support me taking cannabis & magic mushrooms as they see the benefits for my health. They don’t fret or push me about marriage or children, saying it’s my life & to do what makes me happy. They told me that they don’t care about my sexuality. I’ve always been heterosexual but they told me that if I wasn’t it wouldn’t change their love & support for me. They have always empowered me as an artist & to not limit myself. They have been by my side through all my ups & down. Being my greatest advocates.

As I’m getting older this unconditional love & support means the absolute world to me. I see how truly lucky I am, for I know not everyone gets to receive such a relationship with their parents.

Mommy & Daddy, you are my rocks. You are two of my best friends & soulmates. I’m beyond proud to be your daughter & forever thankful to have you as my parents. I love you so much & can’t image my life without you πŸ™πŸΌπŸ€ xoxo
